Founder


Ann Hughes, M. Ed., founder of The Female Affect, uses her extensive experience in the financial services industry coupled with her masters’ level education in the area of organizational learning and human resource development to combine real world experience with proven best practices.  Ann founded her firm after spending over a decade as an executive at ING, one of the world’s largest financial services firms, holding several senior management positions.  Prior to leaving ING, Ann was Head of Strategic Relationship Management and was responsible for growing and managing all broker/dealer distribution relationships in one of the most volatile times on record in the financial services industry.   From 2007-2009, Ann was the National Sales Manager for the New York Stock Exchange and the Financial Institution channels where she led a team of 65 wholesalers to achieve record sales results for ING Annuities.   Under Ann’s leadership, sales increased 66% to their highest levels in company history.   Ann engages clients and audiences as she shares her insights and helps both organizations and advisors grow their business.
